World premiere: Helvellyn Life of a Mountain

The premiere of film maker, Terry Abraham’s third Life of a Mountain film, Helvellyn, had to go online on Saturday (7 November) due to COVID restrictions postponing the Zeffirelli’s event in Ambleside.

The online screening attracted thousands of pay-to-view subscribers who were still able to appreciate the film’s amazing Lake District landscape and wildlife photography and interviews with people from all walks of Patterdale life.

Eagle-eyed viewers may have spotted our Team trailer in the background on a couple of occasions – once on Glenridding Green and once at the Patterdale Dog Day – and there were various familiar faces involved, from hill top assessor, Zak, to David, one of the Ullswater Steamer pilots. Mark Littlejohn, a local photographer and MR Team supporter, was also featured.

Postscript: The online streaming proved so popular that it is being repeated on the weekend of 14/15 November. Details are online here.

Thank you, Hayley and Helen. Hayley lost her camera on Swirral Edge - precious memories and a special gift. Helen found it, posted on social media and Hayley's friend spotted it. Hayley has her camera, Helen wanted no reward so Hayley's donated to us. Thank you to both of them!
