    • Team News: Swirral Edge rescue features on Countryside 999 18th March

      A rescue from Swirral Edge last November was captured on film by a BBC crew flying with the RN Sea King helicopter that was involved. Footage, including Team Doctor John Ellerton, will feature in a Countryside 999 programme on BBC TV on Friday 22 March at 3.45pm, including a follow up interview with the casualty, Mr Peter Flint from Lincoln.

    • Team News: Team receives nearly £200 from Giveacar scheme 15th July

      Thanks to Andrew in Great Shelford, Cambs and Richard in Halifax. They’ve both scrapped their cars via giveacar.co.uk and we’ve received £98 for each one - plus their cars have been recycled at a green facility - is this a win-win-win?

    • Team News: Park Foot raises £700 for the Team with Jubilee Fun Day 28th June

      Staff and visitors at Park Foot Caravan and Camping Park raised £700 for Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team over the Jubilee holiday. A special Family Fun Day included a duck race, a fun dog show, various stalls, a display by Silverband Falconry and a Tug of War that stretched the length of the site – at least 50-a-side.

    • Team News: Army Cadets visit Base and make a generous donation 29th April

      Saturday 21 April saw a visit to Base by the Wigton group of Cumbria Army Cadet Corps. Simon Woodrow and Tom Abbey hosted the visit, explaining the work of mountain rescue and demonstrating some of the Team’s equipment. A collection resulted in the group making a generous donation of £28 – many thanks to everyone involved.

      On Easter Monday the Patterdale Mountain Rescue DUCK RACE was held. Thanks to everyone who supported us in raising over £2000 pounds. Here are the Winning Ducks and winners will also be informed by telephone.

      When the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge donated a Land Rover wedding gift to mountain rescue last summer, they probably never guessed that it would be the start of a chain of donations that has gone from Patterdale in the Lake District to Glossop in the Peak District and will soon stretch a link further to Snowdonia in North Wales!
