: Great Dodd 29th August
Report s of flashing lights at summit of Great Dodd. Police requested MRT investigate. After a roadside watch no flashing lights were seen. Thought to be car headlights reflecting on the hill side. -
Duke of Edinburgh Group escorted from the Fell: Sticks Pass 27th August
A group of 7 Duke of Edinburgh participants on a Gold expedition became overtaken by darkness and were unprepared to continue their descent to Glenridding. Team located and guided them safely off the hill and helped them set up camp. -
Missing youth located: Glenridding Dodd / Sheffield Pike area 24th August
A 16yr old Air Training Corps member who was camping at Glenridding went missing during a walk on to Sheffield Pike. Group were concerned as he was lightly dressed and his mobile phone was not being answered. Search was initiated and the youth was located on the Path above Greenside Mines. No injuries. -
: Birkhouse Moor 22nd August
Female slipped sustained head injuries. Air Ambulance took her direct to hospital. Team escorted companion to Rescue Centre. -
: Birks Fell, Howtown to Glenridding path 21st August
Mountain Biker fell from bike and sustained head and facial injuries. Stretchered to Lake shore and taken by team rescue boat to West side of Ullswater for collection by County ambulance. -
: Deepdale 20th August
Mother and daughter walking the Fairfield Horseshoe became separated in low cloud and mist. Daughter phoned police to call out mountain rescue as she believed her mother was lost. As search was started the mother made a phone call to her husband to say she was safe and had made her way off the hill. -
Birthday Rescue on Helvellyn: Helvellyn Summit 19th August
75 yr old man slipped and fell on his hip. He was unable to weight bear. Passing walkers assisted him to the summit and the team roped him down into Brown Cove to a landrover at the breached Dam. Penrith MR Team assisted with the evacuation. The air ambulance also assisted with lifting team members on to the hill as far as the cloud base would allow. -
: Glenridding Common 16th August
Female from Chalfont St Giles, slipped on the path and damaged her ankle. Treated at the scene and brought down by Stretcher. -
: Lanty Tarn area 16th August
62 yr old man with Jack Russell terrier reported overdue from a walk by his wife. Man located safe and well at Glenridding -
: Ullswater 10th August
A 22 yr old male was reported missing from Waterside campsite. MR Teams from Penrith, Kirkby Stephen, The Patterdale Inflatable RIB and Lake District Search dogs assisted along with an RAF Sea King and the Police Underwater search team. Body of missing person located by Police Underwater Search Team the following morning. -
: Swirral Edge Helvellyn 8th August
Man with history of heart problems suffering from chest pain on Swirral Edge. Team attended along with colleagues from the Penrith Team and an Air Ambulance. The man was treated by a doctor. Members of the team were airlifted to close by. An RN seaking also attended. The man was flown to hospital. -
: Striding Edge, Helvellyn 7th August
A 44 yr old male fell about 50 ft from the edge and sustained shoulder and wrist injuries. Stretchered down to Greenside where Air Ambulance evacuated to Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle -
: Sandwick area 7th August
Called by police to investigate calls for help and whistles coming from the Sandwick area. Team boat was launched. Team stood down shortly afterwards as it transpired that a man was calling for his lost dog. -
: High Street summit 6th August
Two males on the Coast to Coast walk became lost on High Street. They called police to request Mountain Rescue assistance. As the search was commencing the team spoke to another walker by mobile phone and they were linked up with the walker who brought them safely down.

Team News: Donated Land Rover creates a ripple effect 2nd August
Back in April, Land Rover presented an MRT vehicle as a wedding present to the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge who then passed it on to MREW. That vehiclewill soon be on its way to the Patterdale team in the Lake District, winners of a draw by Prince Harry at Clarence House, no less.
In the spirit of the wedding gift, the Patterdale team has conducted a draw of its own and one of its existing vehicles will be heading south to the Glossop team later in the autumn.

Team News: Park Foot raises £500 for the Team 14th August
Staff and visitors at Park Foot Caravan and Camping Park have raised over £350 for Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team with a series of fundraising raffles to win giant World Cup bears. Owners, Barbara Allen and Fiona Bell have then made that figure up to £500.
