    Family lost on fells above Ullswater: Bonscale Pike 25th July

    At 16.45pm the police called the Team to locate and assist a family from Manchester who had become disorientated and needed assistance to get back down to their holiday lodging at Swarthbeck, Ullswater.

    Young person stretchered from Swarth Beck: Swarth Beck Howtown. 20th July

    The Team to assisted a 19yr old male who slipped and exacerbated an old injury and was unable to walk.

    Outdoor centre student damages ankle at Freeze Beck Boredale: Freeze Beck 15th July

    A 16 year old student slipped during a gorge scramble and damaged his ankle.

    65 year old man falls from Swirral Edge: Swirral Edge, Helvellyn 10th July

    On Saturday 10th July, Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team rescued a 65 year old walker from Oldham who had slipped and fallen 200 metres from Swirral Edge, Helvellyn.

    D of E girls reported misssing on High Street: Ullswater Camp Site 3rd July

    The Team were called by the Police at around midnight, after a Duke of Edinburgh Award Assessor reported that a group of six 17 yr old girls had not arrived at a their checkpoint at Pooley Bridge. The girls from a school in Basingstoke had been dropped off at Hartsop earlier in the day but, had apparently failed to arrive at their camp site.

    Ankle injury at Elm How: Elm How Grizedale 2nd July

    The Team were called by Cumbria Police to a female walker who had slipped and sustained a suspected broken ankle.
  • Team News: TV stardom (almost) for Ally and Steve 20th July

    Team member, Ally Howard-Carter and Trustee, Steve Howe, have represented the Team in recent weeks on filming TV programmes that have very little to do with mountain rescue! The Steamer Pier area by Ullswater seems to have become a favourite with TV crews for outside broadcasts and Ally definitely got the better deal with sunshine and helpings of sticky toffee pudding.

  • Team News: Birthday gift contributes over £650 10th July

    To celebrate her 70th birthday, friends and family of Jennifer Heaton of Yanwath near Penrith have contributed towards a donation of over £650 to Patterdale MRT.
