Rescue of motorists stranded on Kirkstone Pass: Kirkstone Pass 5th January
The team were called by the Police to rescue two people stranded in a car in deep snow on the Kirkstone Pass. The couple from Edinburgh were on the way via Patterdale to a hotel in Windermere. They were following directions from their GPS which had routed them over Kirkstone.

Team members have all been shocked and sorry to hear of the death of long-time member, Eric Harrison on Wednesday night.

Team News: Congratulations on MBE 1st January
Team member and ex-team Leader, Dave Freeborn, has been recognised in the New Year’s Honours List with an MBE for services to Patterdale Mountain Rescue team. Dave served almost 17 years as Leader until handing over to Martin Cotterell in March 2008. He continues to serve the Team as a deputy.
